So I am getting further behind by the day. So frustrating because I have some really great photos to share with you. I think Thursday will be my day to catch up or at least I hope. Our internet has been coming and going and I spent majority of my day last Friday talking with Comcast to get them to come out. After taking to three different people I finally got someone to agree to send a tech out.
Now said tech was scheduled to come out on Saturday between 8-11am...awesome right...next day service. Well that was all too good to be true because our ghetto local piece of crap comcast office called and had rescheduled the appointment for this Wednesday from 8-11am. I just don't understand how such a large company can have such crappy customer service. I HATE dealing with them. No fault of the techs because I find they are normally pleasant enough.
So that all being said we have had really shoty internet that will all but disappear for days at a time for no reason at all only to just pop back up at it's choosing. When you have it you have to work quick because it is about as tempermental as a teenage girl. There is no predicting it's mood.
I was so excited at the prospect of having fixed interenet...there is nothing better then technology you can rely on. Well last week my Mom's computer and my sister's computer were infected by viruses. Luckily my Mom's work fixed hers and I didn't quite finish with Kate's. I had removed her viruses and cleaned the computer but the intenet explorer files were corrupt (thanks stupid people who like to infect us). Before I had the chance to finish fixing hers my stupid computer got a virus. Sunday night to be exact, I was laying in bed reading and Aaron came in and said a virus thing popped up saying the computer was being infected. It was already too late at that point. So needless to say this week after our internet gets fixed I will be attempting to fix computers. Luckily laptops are fairly easy to fix without much extra equipment. I have my cds and a few external hard drives to help transfer data. Re-formatting computers is one of those handy things you learn but hate to have to do.
So by the end of this week I will hopefully be back in business but until then I promise there are some great photos to come. Now I must run for now because Ava and I are going to meet my Dad for lunch and then her and I have to run to the grocery store. I need to get something on for dinner tonight before I head to class. Plus we got some yummy strawberries and cheeries yesterday when her and I went to a Mommy meet up at a farm. So we will be making a few pies this week. Yum yum!!!! Aaron will definitely be happy about that.
Bye for now!!! See you when I have fixed all of the technical difficulties!!

Day One Hundred and Fifty
Backyard play...
It was a beautiful 3 day weekend and we spent it relaxing and Ava spent it in the backyard. Here was her playzone. I think you can even see her swing in the background of one of the photos.
and here is little missy watching cartoons and cooling off.

Day One Hundred and Fourty-Nine
Sand play...
Where there is water there must be sand right? At least that is usually the case in nature so why not in the backyard too. Sunday Aaron and I took Ava to get a sandbox. In the beginning of Spring it seemed that our child would not sit still long enough to play in a sandbox or a pool so we didn't get one. She still has her little pool from last summer and so far she just likes to jump in it and splash around and then hop out and on to something else. If she decides to actually play in the pool and sit in the pool I may upgrade her from the $5 itty bitty baby pool but for now looks like that $5 pool will be around for it's second summer.
Back to the sandbox...we have noticed that in the last few weeks Ava has actually started to sit and color with her chalk, play with the rocks, sit and smush bugs (gross I know but since I HATE bugs I'm fine it she lessens that population). We talked about it and decided she would probably like to have a sandbox so we took her and picked one out.
Her first day in it she couldn't get over the sand being on her feet. She would pick them up and look at the bottoms of them and then look at us like what is this stuff. We played with some of the toys and just let her get the "feel" of things. Here she is in her sandbox for the first time.
Isn't she so cute in her little sundress :)

Day One Hundred and Fourty-Eight
Water play...
Yesterday I took Ava outside to paint with water. Basically we took her sand bucket and filled it with water and then I handed her a large clean paintbrush. She went and grabbed her chalk from the garage and brought it around back so I combined the activities. We would use the chalk to write on the stones and then "paint" over them and they would disappear. This actually lasted a good fifteen minutes which is a pretty good stretch for one set activity.
Then she decided that it would be really fun to splash the water in the bucket.
After she splashed out almost all of the water we went back over to refill the bucket but she discovered another good place to splash water.
I like to let Ava experiment and explore especially when she is playing outside. I will start her with an activity to get her going and then watch what she turns it into. We like to keep in mind that it's the process and not the product and just let her enjoy herself. It's so fun to watch carefree imaginative play.
I'll end today's post by sharing a picture of the red rose I mentioned before. When we choose Rose as our daughters middle name this is what I pictured.

Day One Hundred and Fourty-Seven
Farm Fresh...
Friday Ava and I went to the Amish market in search of some more yummy strawberries. Much to our disappointment we found none but we did score these beauties. Yum, right!! I love fresh fruits and veggies.

Day One Hundred and Fourty-Six
Tutu twirls...
Thursday afternoon I heard Ava in her room and she sounded like she was upset about something so I went in to she what could have possibly ruffled her feathers. I found her pointing to something in the closet and I looked and low and behold she wanted her tutu. She has two of them but neither has been worn in over six months. Here she was the last time she wore either.

I remember the good ole days before I had to actually chase my subject down, before blurred action shots, before she refused to look at the camera, when studio shots were actually possible, and sessions could be planned out.
Back to current day (or last Thursday). So I reached up and grabbed the tutu and she raised her arms ups high and started running in place out of excitement. She couldn't wait to put it on. I slipped it on over her head and she grinned ear to ear and ran into the foyer. She began to twirl around and prance from room to room. I couldn't believe how excited she got over a tutu. Looks like I will be putting her in dance classes this fall.
We did her lesson in the tutu because she did not want to take it off. While we were sitting on the floor finishing up her shapes puzzle her Daddy came home. The next sequence of photos is her showing her Daddy her tutu and what she could do in it. O and they are pretty blurred but I didn't get a chance to adjust my settings. I caught the moment so that counts for something.

Day One Hundred and Fourty-Five
Canadian or American..
Apparently there are two ways to spell 40. I spelled it two different ways but both looked right so I googled it. Good ole' Google told me there are two correct spellings: forty which is American and fourty which is Canadian. Spell check prefers forty but my eyes prefer fourty so I'll leave it as fourty for today.
My picture for today (well, umm actually last Wednesday) is a close up of a rose in the backyard. I need to take a picture of the red ones. I wish I could capture that smell and share it with you because it is so sweet smelling. Not offensive like perfume manufacturers lead you to believe roses are. Never ever trust synthetic smells...like lavendar. The real thing smells NOTHING like the offensive perfumes and fragrances in stores.
In fact I do not like perfume or colognes because I find them very offensive. They give me headaches, make me cough, and I often have to hold my breath around perfume wearers. Too much inhalation of perfumy (I don't think that is a real word) air will make me nauseous. I love essential oils and natural extracts but synthetic is horrible. Similar to funeral flowers I find perfume overwhelming. I'm glad Aaron feels the same and also has similar reactions to it or I would have to ask him not to wear cologne. Which reminds me of a pet peeve from my office working days. Those people (and they know who they are) who wear so much cologne or perfume in the mornings that when you get on the elevator you know they are at work. Not because they are in the elevator with you but because they left their scent behind. I found men were worse with that. Some so potent you could barely enter their office without a gas mask in hand. I will never understand what they are trying to cover...they must smell horrible naturally. Or maybe they have awful breath or maybe they are so arrogant they like to smell themselves...hahah, they may have been it.
