Summer Nights!!!

The great thing about summer nights is that even after bath time there is a little daylight left to go out and play.

Day One Hundred and Seventy-Nine

More Ava in Motion...

I'm not set on these being the only photos for today because they didn't come out exactly as I had thought they would.

Here is Ava twirling and playing in her tutu, her Aunt's scarf, and enjoying her goody bag lollie.  I don't let her indulge in lollies often because they are so sticky but she did happily enjoy it.

Day One Hundred and Seventy-Eight

Ava in Motion...

Some of these are blurry but I don't care.  They show how much fun we were having blur or no blur.

Doing her swagger walk

She'll climb anything she can get her feet on

Running to hide from me

Throwing the ball

Not even sure what this was about

Getting up after throwing herself on the ground

Crawling after me

Again no clue but it was funny

Reach....

Taking a break

Scooting on her butt

Running after me...look at that face

laying on the floor again...she really likes laying and laughing

Look Mom no feet :)

Silly girl thinks I'm hilarious

I got her belly ;)

Such a pretty little girl <3

Toes

Looking at her Aunt Katie under the table

Running on her knees...now that was hilarious

Then she fell...equally as hilarious

Walking on her knees again

Stretching and screaming

To think this all starting because I saw her ducking behind the side of the couch and I said boo.

Pets + I heart faces challenge = Chestnut

This weeks I heart faces challenge is pets.  I decided to enter a photo I took one early morning of my Sister's dog sleeping on the couch.  He is older now and the one thing that hasn't changed is his love for a good resting spot.  He will always beat you to the most cushy spot and if you get up he'll steal yours because he is no dummy; your spot is warm.

If you have read my blog before you have seen this photo which was posted back on day 3 of my 365 project.  If you read that post then you may remember my story about Chestnut and his knack for always having the best seat in the house.  Whether you have heard it or not I will share it again.

Back in my childhood home when Chestnut was a young buck we use to have this blue recliner. Actually we still have the recliner but it use to sit in front of a huge bay window that overlooked the front yard, the street, and my bus stop.  We also had a real wood fireplace which had a way of making the house extra toasty and warm.  Well, there I would be bundled up from head to toe making my way down our sidewalk past the bay window and every day without fail I would look in to find Chestnut looking back out at me.  There he would be in the comfy blue recliner, nestled up on the arm, in front of the fire, inside the warm house looking out.  I use to think to myself, 'that dog is so lucky'.  Even from my bus stop I could see him still there, warm in the chair, and I would watch his image fade as my bus pulled away.  When I would arrive home in the afternoon after a long day at school there he would be.  Propped up in the blue recliner and one would have to wonder if he had moved at all that whole day.

His face is whiter, his eye sight worse, his hearing all but gone, but his love for a good spot to sleep is still unchanged.

How could I forget?

An adorable picture of the little missy after a long day of playing hard.

Sunday Randomness

This is the result of being bored for the last two hours.

This is the product of my boredom....

the piano peddles...

childhood nostalgia...

another find from the target $1 section...

playing with angles...

and a glass of white wine...yum!

I will leave you with this which was posted on a wine thread on my online Mom groups forum.  (O and yes, we have a thread just for wine because we are that awesome)

A Real Man

A real man is a woman's best friend.

He will never stand her up and never let her down.

He will reassure her when she feels insecure and comfort her after a bad day.

He will inspire her to do things she never thought she could do; to live without fear and forget regret.

He will enable her to express her deepest emotions and give in to her most intimate desires.

He will make sure she always feels as though she's the most beautiful woman in the room

and will enable her to be the most confident, sexy, seductive, and invincible.

No wait... sorry... I'm thinking of wine.

Day One Hundred and Seventy-Seven

Hangin' with Missy Rose...

The absolute best things about a relaxing day at home is the one on one time with Ava.  I will lay on the floor next to her and she will just talk and talk.  She will climb all over me and laugh and be silly.  Here are some of the moments I caught from this morning.

This is her what the ___  look!

her goody bag sunglasses she got yesterday....

being silly and putting them on and taking them off...

slipping them off the back of her head...

close up...

making faces because Mommy wanted her to put the sunglasses on her face...

watching cartoons...

taking a break and laying with Mommy on the floor...

Off topic but an On Demand preview just came on for bridezillas...What the ____ is wrong with those people.  I can't even bring myself to watch that show and I don't understand who could.  That is just too much drama and too much trashiness.  Who really behaves like that?!?!?!

Anyways back to today...Nan and Pop came over for lunch, or dinner, or was it lunch.  I guess lunch for me because I'll eat again but technically it was called dinner even though it was at 2 in the afternoon.  Whatever it was it was good and it was nice to have Nan and Pop over.  Ava was definitely happy and all through dinner kept saying pop...pop...pop.  Every time Pop would call Ava into the room she would look around and say Pop.

Now Ava is up talking to her Aunt Katie and from what I can make out she is talking about Mickey Mouse and a bug.  Now I'm off to dig through my photos and pick one for a contest tomorrow about pets.
